Welcome to MY DEALS WITH THE UNIVERSE

Sometimes we have no idea where life will take us. I never dreamed I’d one day sell sympathy gifts or write a journal to record a loved ones life, but this is where I am. Coping with the loss of a child is something I never planned on. The loss of a daughter/sister/mother was profound, and has left a mark on our souls. Sometimes out of grief and heartache the most beautiful ideas are born.
We hope to make this blog an eclectic mix which will reflect the personalities of our contributors. So check back here often and subscribe so you don’t miss a thing. Our contributors are Ashley Warner, Cindy Coniam, Mark Coniam and Mariel Armitage.

PRLog(Press Release) – Jul 07, 2009 – Since our internet business olivejuice Designs has opened, I've been moved more then ever to do what I can to help educate people about the danger of sun exposure, tanning beds, and the importance of taking an active part in their health care.

Her name is Kelly, she was 25 years old and she died just four months after diagnosis of Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.

She was being treated for
chronic bronchitis by her primary care physician. Each time she finished the anti-biotic and was "over" the bronchitis she relapsed within a couple weeks. After 6 months of this her Dr. sent her for a chest x-ray. We were NOT prepared for what he said...tumor in her lung...? Those words will forever be burned in my brain. We were stunned. There was a lot more testing after that and before we knew what was happening she was in surgery to remove the middle lobe of her left lung. We thought this was the worst of times. Sadly, it wasn't, just two days later when the pathology report came back they told us it was melanoma. Melanoma? What is it? We had never heard of it. We were in shock, we didn't even know what questions to ask. Just four months later she died. That was the worst of times. We all failed her. How I wish we could turn back time.

She had seen a dermatologist 5 years proir to her death. He dismissed the mole on her back as nothing. A senseless and tragic death, Melanoma is curable if detected early and treated promptly.

Almost 12 years later I'm still amazed at the number of people who know nothing about Melanoma or the dangers of sun exposure and tanning beds. I am dedicated to getting this information known.
I'm doing this through a series of "mini
web-sites". http://www.squidoo.com/melanoma-information
I hope you’ll take the time to visit that site and read the information there. It could very well save your life or the life of someone you love.

With a series of "mini-sites" we hope to provide useful information about melanoma and the danger of sun exposure and tanning beds. Melanoma is the reason olivejuice designs exists.
